Job Purpose

The Crane Operator is responsible for safely operating gantry crane machines to handle, stack, and move 1-ton sugar bags in line with operational procedures and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Perform stacking and destacking of 1-ton sugar bags according to procedures
Inspect crane components including:
- Foundation bolts and railways
- Chain hook and pulley systems
- Hoisting rope condition and lubrication
Report any faults or deviations to the Foreman
Conduct daily machine inspections by accessing the crane cabin
Assist with breakdowns and maintenance activities when required
Ensure proper shift handover
Switch off crane and position hook safely at end of shift
Maintain high standards of safety, quality, health, and environmental compliance
Report unsafe or non-conforming conditions using the incident reporting system
Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 & ISO 22000 standards
Perform any additional duties related to plant operations

Minimum Requirements

Form IV (O-Level Certificate) or higher
Technical certificate in Fitter, Mechanical, or related field
Minimum 1 year experience in crane operations
Experience in warehousing/logistics (added advantage)
Forklift certificate/license (added advantage)
