The Foundation For Tomorrow (TFFT) is an International Non-Governmental Organization (Reg. No. I-NGO/R1/0071) dedicated to providing quality, inclusive education and psychosocial support to orphaned and vulnerable children in Tanzania.

TFFT envisions a world where all children become active, empowered citizens, free from exclusion, disadvantage, and vulnerability.

The TFFT Computer Lab at the Learning Centre aims to bridge the digital divide by equipping:

  • Students
  • Teachers
  • Youth
  • Community members

with essential digital literacy and 21st-century skills, offering programs ranging from basic computer skills to advanced ICT training.


Position Summary

The Computer Lab Administrator will oversee the management, operations, and programming of the TFFT Computer Lab.

This role combines:

  • Technical support
  • Instructional facilitation
  • Administrative coordination

The successful candidate will ensure efficient lab operations while delivering impactful digital programs to diverse users.


Key Responsibilities

1. Lab Operations and Technical Management

  • Manage daily operations of the computer lab
  • Ensure all equipment is functional and well-maintained
  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot:
    • Hardware
    • Software
    • Peripheral devices
  • Provide hands-on IT support to:
    • Staff
    • Students
    • Teachers
    • Program participants
  • Ensure:
    • Safe equipment usage
    • Controlled access
    • Security and hygiene standards
  • Maintain inventory and oversee procurement and servicing

2. Program Development and Facilitation

  • Design and implement digital literacy programs for various groups
  • Conduct training sessions on:
    • Basic computer skills
    • Microsoft Office
    • Internet usage
    • Coding (advantage)
  • Support teacher training aligned with:
    • Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE) requirements
    • TFFT Teacher Training Program

3. Administration and Reporting

  • Track:
    • Lab usage
    • Attendance
  • Prepare regular reports on:
    • Performance
    • Participation
    • Equipment status
  • Develop and maintain:
    • Policies
    • Procedures
    • User guidelines
  • Manage lab schedules and bookings

4. Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Coordinate with internal programs:
    • Scholarship Program
    • Teacher Training Program
  • Collaborate with:
    • Partners
    • Local organizations
    • Volunteers
  • Promote lab services within the community
  • Support:
    • Proposal writing
    • Budgeting
    • Fundraising initiatives

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Computer Science
    • Information Technology
    • Related field
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in:
    • ICT training
    • Lab management
    • Technology programs
  • Strong technical knowledge of:
    • Hardware & software systems
    • Operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS)
    • Networking & troubleshooting
  • Added advantages:
    • Coding instruction experience
    • Knowledge of:
      • Cloud computing
      • Cybersecurity
      • Virtual learning environments
  • Excellent:
    • Communication skills
    • Training and facilitation ability
  • Strong:

Employment Terms

  • Contract Type: Full-time, 24-month renewable (based on performance & funding)
  • Duty Station: Usa River (with occasional travel)
  • Salary: TZS 3,000,000 – 3,500,000 per month
