Job Title: Regional Sales Manager

Job Overview
The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing sales operations within the assigned region. The role focuses on developing and executing sales strategies, managing the area sales team, driving revenue growth, and ensuring alignment with the company’s overall objectives.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
1. Sales Strategy & Planning
- Develop and oversee execution of sales plans to achieve revenue and performance targets.
- Participate in regional goal-setting and align sales objectives with Area Sales Officers.
- Develop structured regional sales work plans for effective execution.
2. Team Leadership & Coordination
- Coordinate and supervise daily activities of the area sales team.
- Ensure team alignment with company goals and performance expectations.
- Review team performance regularly against set targets.
3. Business Development & Market Growth
- Identify new revenue opportunities and customer needs.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key and strategic customers.
- Implement strategies to enhance distributor loyalty.
4. Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor regional sales performance and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Collate and review periodic sales reports from sales officers.
- Submit reports to management to support strategic decision-making.
5. Market Intelligence & Forecasting
- Analyze market trends and gather competitive intelligence.
- Identify factors affecting sales growth and profitability.
- Conduct demand planning and forecasting to ensure product availability.
6. Budgeting & Financial Management
- Oversee preparation of monthly and annual regional budgets.
- Monitor budget implementation and ensure cost control.
- Authorize regional expenses in line with approved budgets and company policies.
7. Customer & Operational Support
- Oversee management of the regional customer database.
- Support sales officers in resolving escalated customer or sales issues.
- Coordinate with marketing teams to implement promotional activities.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, or Marketing.
- Postgraduate qualification (e.g., MBA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years’ work experience, with at least 4 years in a Sales Manager role.
