Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to coordinate, coach, and control maintenance team activities within the production environment, while providing technical expertise to ensure maximum equipment availability and operational efficiency.


Key Responsibilities

1. Team Leadership & Management

  • Develop and monitor team goals
  • Coach and support team members, including conducting SKAP assessments
  • Manage performance, development plans, and engagement
  • Conduct regular 1-on-1 meetings
  • Oversee recruitment and team development

2. Maintenance & Operations

  • Maintain machinery and manage breakdown repairs
  • Plan and execute maintenance activities
  • Ensure maintenance tools are in good working condition
  • Operate plant and process equipment where required

3. Safety, Health & Environment

  • Enforce compliance with safety, health, and environmental regulations
  • Maintain 5S standards and safe work environments
  • Conduct safety inspections and audits
  • Ensure adherence to PPE policies
  • Identify and eliminate unsafe practices

4. Plant Reliability & Performance

  • Improve and optimize plant and process equipment
  • Ensure effective process controls are in place
  • Drive packaging efficiencies and operational excellence
  • Maintain plant documentation and systems

5. Continuous Improvement

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives
  • Conduct loss and waste analysis for key machines
  • Participate in strategic planning (S Plan)
  • Implement VPO (Voyager Plant Optimization) practices
  • Ensure compliance with GOP standards

6. Budget & Resource Management

  • Prepare and manage ZBB / VIC Maintenance budgets
  • Monitor budget adherence and identify risks
  • Identify and support CAPEX opportunities

7. Problem Solving & Audits

  • Solve operational and situational problems
  • Conduct audits and performance reviews
  • Ensure artisan workstations address key problem areas

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (preferably in Electrical Engineering or related field)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience at a supervisory level
  • 3–5 years’ experience in production engineering within an FMCG environment
  • Knowledge of:
    • Brewing
    • Engineering & Facilities (E&F)
    • Packaging plant operations (advantageous)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
