Position Overview
North Mara Gold Mine is seeking a highly skilled Underground Maintenance Manager to lead and develop its underground mobile maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities
Maintenance Leadership & Operations
- Lead and manage the underground mobile maintenance team
- Ensure timely and effective maintenance of underground equipment
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs
Planning & Resource Management
- Oversee maintenance scheduling and spare parts inventory
- Manage procurement processes to minimize equipment downtime
- Control maintenance budgets and optimize resource utilization
Technical Oversight
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex equipment issues
- Monitor equipment performance and establish KPIs
- Provide input into new projects and construction activities
Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate major maintenance activities with operations teams
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and reporting systems
- Ensure efficient use of CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
Compliance & Safety
- Promote a strong safety-first culture within the team
- Ensure compliance with operational procedures and regulations
- Conduct workplace inspections and incident investigations
- Work in compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
Team Development
- Manage performance, training, and development of maintenance personnel
- Provide feedback to OEMs to improve equipment performance
- Ensure quality assurance and control across maintenance activities
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Mining Engineering, or related field
- Relevant certifications in Heavy Equipment, Mining, or Safety
Experience & Skills
- 5–7 years of experience in underground mobile equipment maintenance
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Strong knowledge of underground mining operations and safety standards
- Experience with maintenance systems such as SAP
- Familiarity with OEM equipment (e.g., Sandvik) is an added advantage
