Job Vacancy: Customs Clearing & Forwarding Officer – Tanza Trade Gateway

Tanza Trade Gateway is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Customs Clearing & Forwarding Officer to join our team in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

⚠️ Mandatory Requirement

Please Note: Applicants must possess a valid EACFFPC (East African Customs Freight Forwarding Practicing Certificate) to be considered for this role. Candidates without this specific certification will not be shortlisted.

About the Role

The successful candidate will manage import and export clearance processes, ensure compliance with customs regulations, and coordinate the smooth movement of goods across borders.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process customs documentation for import/export shipments.

• Liaise with customs authority ports and other regulatory agencies.

• Classify goods under the correct HS codes and ensure compliance with relevant laws and procedures.

• Coordinate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and transporters to ensure timely delivery.

• Calculate and verify duties, taxes, and charges.

• Advise clients on customs requirements and clearance procedures.

• Maintain accurate records and ensure proper filing of documents.

Requirements

• Mandatory: Valid EACFFPC (East African Customs Freight Forwarding Practicing Certificate).

• Diploma/Degree in Customs Management, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.

• 2–5 years of experience in customs clearing and freight forwarding.

• Good knowledge of Tanzanian customs procedures and regulations (TRA, TPA, etc.).

• Familiarity with HS Code classification, duties, and import/export documentation.

• Experience in TANCIS system is a strong added advantage.

• Immediate availability is an added advantage.
