Position Description

Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking to hire an experienced Tele- Remote Operator Trainer The purpose of this role is to Operates a single and/ or double boom jumbo drilling rig for underground development mining with installation of ground support, align to the Barrick DNA and drive a change within team and the business and on a practical note the purpose of this role is ensure underground Mine activities in the Mining Department are undertaken in a safe and cost effective manner to achieve targets in accordance to Barrick Safety Standards, Policies and Procedures.

Reporting to: Development Superintendent Duration: Fixed Term

Responsibilities

• Conduct remote operation in open stope
• Operate multiple Loader Types & capacities
• Identify & Control efficiencies and delay
• Perform Towing/ Recovery activities
• Identify improved operating methods
• Observe cycle times
• Perform Road Building Activities
• Discuss with Supervisor how to improve operating & cycle efficiency
• Monitor & control operating & cycle efficiency
• Monitor & control loading & cycle efficiency
• Coach and mentor trainees on LH307, LH410, LH514 Sandvik Loaders as well as Remote operation
• Assist with the training and skills development of trainees.
• To provide technical, practical and field support in various working areas of the mine focusing in increasing work effectiveness and productivity while lowering cost through improved good operational practices

Qualification Requirements

• Qualification in Mining or similar technical qualification that is supported by practical work experience in mining.
• Understand drilling techniques for both rehabilitation and face drilling.
• Demonstrated ability to achieve high-speed development ( 200m per month per jumbo)
• Candidate should have had exposure to automation within the underground environment.
• Time management, scheduling, and planning.
• Hazard identification and Risk assessment

Experience And Skills Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as tele-remote loader operator
• Experience in operating machine in large underground mining operation
• Demonstrate ability to achieve 40t/hr on remotes of LH410 across a 12hr shift.
• Exposure to automation.
• Demonstrated ability in training operators in use of tele remote loader operation
