MATEMBEZI LTD – JOB VACANCY – SAFARI SALES CONSULTANT

Location: Arusha, full time position, start date immediate.

Job description and responsibilities in brief:

• Cost and quote incoming requests which include set departures, groups and FIT files, offering a personalized and consultative sales approach.
• Design customized safari itineraries based on clients’ preferences, expectations and budgets, follow up for sales conversion .
• Familiarity with Wetu, and accurate use of company costing and quoting database.
• Maintain good relationships with travel industry suppliers, primarily lodge and camps.
• Participate in product training, familiarization trips, and team development activities.

Requirements:

• Tanzanian citizen.
• Wide knowledge of safari products along with geography and required logistics on how to operate.
• Safari knowledge and past working experiences within East African countries will be considered as an advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years experience in similar role, references needed.
• Extra language knowledge (i.e. Spanish, German, French) will be considered an advantage.

Four partners stand behind Matembezi. Hagai Zvulun, born in Ethiopia, worked as a safari guide throughout Africa until he started Matembezi in 2005. Ilan Kessel, hailing from South Africa, joined him after guiding together for years in East Africa, adding his background in tour operations. After running Matembezi for 10 years, they were joined by Ulrich and Stephanie Kuerzinger. Stephanie was born in Tanzania and was joined here by her husband Uli, from Germany, after completing her studies in hotel management. Between the two of them they built and operated hotels and lodges and worked as operation managers for some of Tanzania’s biggest lodge and camp operations. Combined, they have more than 80 years of experience in all aspects of the African safari industry; and bring to the table unparalleled product knowledge and operational hands-on knowhow.
