Job Description

AzamPesa is looking for an experienced and highly skilled Cybersecurity Specialist to join the team. The successful candidate will implement, enforce, and continuously improve cybersecurity controls across the organization, ensuring strict alignment with Bank of Tanzania (BoT) regulatory requirements and internal security standards. This role requires a technically proficient, compliance-focused professional capable of bridging technical execution and corporate governance to maintain secure and resilient systems.

Responsibilities

1. Regulatory Compliance & Audit Support

• Support implementation of BoT regulatory requirements and audit controls.

• Work closely with internal teams and auditors to prepare and respond to audits.

• Ensure timely closure of security and compliance findings.

• Maintain proper documentation, evidence, and reporting for compliance.

2. Secure SDLC & DevSecOps Implementation

• Implement and enforce Secure-by-Design practices across development teams.

• Integrate and manage SAST, DAST, SCA, and Secret scanning.

• Ensure security controls are embedded in CI/CD pipelines.

• Work with developers to ensure secure coding standards are followed.

3. Vulnerability Management

• Identify, track, and manage application and infrastructure vulnerabilities.

• Ensure Critical and High vulnerabilities are prioritized and remediated.

• Maintain vulnerability dashboards and reporting.

• Support VAPT activities and remediation tracking.

4. Security Tools & Monitoring

• Implement and operate tools such as: AWS GuardDuty, Nessus/Tenable, CodeQL, and SonarQube.

• Monitor systems and support incident detection and response.

• Ensure coverage across all applications and environments.

5. Cloud, API & Platform Security

• Support security implementation across Cloud (AWS/Hybrid), Kubernetes/Containers, and APIs/integrations.

• Ensure secure configurations and access controls.

6. Collaboration & Security Awareness

• Work with development teams, platform engineering, and external vendors.

• Provide guidance on security best practices.

• Promote security awareness across teams.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 5+ years in Cyber Security.

• Industry Experience: FinTech / Banking / Payments (preferred).

• Environment: Experience in regulated environments (BoT or similar is a strong advantage).

• Hands-on Experience in: Application Security, DevSecOps, Vulnerability Management, and Cloud Security.

Educational Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree (Mandatory) in Computer Science / Cyber Security / IT.

Certifications (Preferred):

• CEH / OSCP

• ISO 27001

• CISSP / CISM (Added advantage, not mandatory at this level)

• AWS Security or equivalent
