POSITION 1: ASSISTANT FINANCE OFFICER (VOLUNTEER)


Key Responsibilities

  • Support preparation of accurate and timely financial reports for projects and the organization
  • Record financial transactions in line with accounting standards and organizational procedures
  • Assist in budget preparation and monitor expenditure against approved budgets
  • Ensure proper filing and documentation of financial records (vouchers, receipts, invoices)
  • Support internal and external audit processes by preparing required documentation
  • Work closely with programme teams to ensure financial compliance with donor requirements

Qualifications & Competencies

  • CPA (Certified Public Accountant) – mandatory requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Understanding of NGO/donor-funded financial systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (QuickBooks, Tally, etc.)
  • High integrity, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Experience in NGOs or donor-funded projects is an added advantage

Terms of Engagement

  • Volunteer position offering hands-on experience in financial management
  • Exposure to donor-funded financial systems, compliance, and audits
  • Commitment: 3–6 months (flexible upon agreement)

POSITION 2: AGRICULTURE OFFICER (VOLUNTEER)


Key Responsibilities

  • Support implementation of agroecology and climate-smart agriculture (CSA) interventions
  • Facilitate farmer training on sustainable practices (soil fertility, crop diversification, intercropping, organic pest control)
  • Support establishment and monitoring of demonstration plots
  • Assist in mobilizing women and youth smallholder farmers for extension activities
  • Collect field data and support monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL)
  • Work with extension officers and programme teams in project delivery

Qualifications & Competencies

  • Diploma or Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agroecology, or related field – mandatory requirement
  • Understanding of smallholder farming systems and rural livelihoods
  • Knowledge of climate-smart agriculture is an added advantage
  • Strong facilitation and community engagement skills
  • Ability to work in rural field conditions
  • Basic skills in data collection and reporting
  • NGO or community project experience is an added advantage

  • Exposure to climate adaptation and donor-funded agricultural programmes
  • Commitment: 3–6 months (flexible)
