Role Overview

AKES,T is seeking a dynamic and experienced Athletic Director to lead and oversee the school’s sports and physical education programme across all levels.

The role focuses on:

• Student wellbeing

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and implement a comprehensive sports and PE programme
• Manage and support sports staff and coaches
• Oversee curriculum development in physical education
• Coordinate:
  • Fixtures
  • Competitions
  • Sports days and events
• Build partnerships with:
  • Schools
  • Sports organizations
  • TISA and local clubs
• Communicate with parents, students, and staff
• Monitor programme performance and report to leadership
• Ensure health, safety, and safeguarding standards
• Manage:
  • Sports facilities
  • Equipment
  • Budgets
• Maintain records and contribute to school-wide planning
• Teach a designated PE timetable

Qualifications

• Degree in:
  • Physical Education
  • Sports Science
  • or related field
• Postgraduate qualification (desirable)
• Recognised teaching qualification
• Coaching certifications (advantage)

Experience & Skills

• 3–4 years’ experience leading or coordinating school sports programmes
• Strong:
  • Leadership
  • Organisation
  • People-management skills
• Experience organizing:
  • Sports events
  • Competitions
• Knowledge of:
  • Health & safety
  • Safeguarding in school sports
• Excellent:
  • Communication skills
