Role Overview

Kafika House is seeking a highly organized, analytical, and dependable Finance Coordinator to support the Chief Finance Officer in:

  • Managing daily financial operations
  • Ensuring accurate reporting
  • Strengthening internal controls
  • Maintaining donor and statutory compliance

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting

  • Prepare:
    • Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Coordinate:
    • Month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Reconcile:
    • Bank accounts
    • Payables & receivables
    • Payroll
  • Review:
    • Journal entries
    • Accruals and adjustments
  • Maintain accuracy of accounting systems and records

2. Donor & Grant Financial Management

  • Track and monitor restricted and unrestricted funds
  • Ensure compliance with:
    • Donor agreements
    • Budgets
    • Reporting requirements
  • Prepare donor financial reports
  • Monitor grant spending and analyze budget variances
  • Identify financial risks and provide insights

3. Facility Financial Oversight

  • Supervise facility-level financial operations
  • Oversee:
    • Petty cash
    • Stores and inventory
    • Fleet-related expenses
  • Review procurement and documentation processes
  • Identify internal control gaps and recommend improvements

4. Operational Support

  • Promote financial discipline and accountability
  • Support:
    • Audits
    • Implementation of audit recommendations
  • Contribute to:
    • Process improvements
    • Strengthening finance systems
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Accounting
    • Finance
    • or related field
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in finance/accounting
  • Experience in:
    • NGO or donor-funded environments (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Financial controls
    • Reconciliations
    • Reporting standards
  • Understanding of Tanzanian statutory compliance (advantage)
