Role Overview
Kafika House is seeking a highly organized, analytical, and dependable Finance Coordinator to support the Chief Finance Officer in:
- Managing daily financial operations
- Ensuring accurate reporting
- Strengthening internal controls
- Maintaining donor and statutory compliance
Key Responsibilities
1. Financial Reporting
- Prepare:
- Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Coordinate:
- Month-end and year-end closing processes
- Reconcile:
- Bank accounts
- Payables & receivables
- Payroll
- Review:
- Journal entries
- Accruals and adjustments
- Maintain accuracy of accounting systems and records
2. Donor & Grant Financial Management
- Track and monitor restricted and unrestricted funds
- Ensure compliance with:
- Donor agreements
- Budgets
- Reporting requirements
- Prepare donor financial reports
- Monitor grant spending and analyze budget variances
- Identify financial risks and provide insights
3. Facility Financial Oversight
- Supervise facility-level financial operations
- Oversee:
- Petty cash
- Stores and inventory
- Fleet-related expenses
- Review procurement and documentation processes
- Identify internal control gaps and recommend improvements
4. Operational Support
- Promote financial discipline and accountability
- Support:
- Audits
- Implementation of audit recommendations
- Contribute to:
- Process improvements
- Strengthening finance systems
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in:
- Accounting
- Finance
- or related field
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in finance/accounting
- Experience in:
- NGO or donor-funded environments (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Financial controls
- Reconciliations
- Reporting standards
- Understanding of Tanzanian statutory compliance (advantage)
