Company Description

SOLOMON Stockbrokers Limited is one of the founding members of the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE). The Company is licensed as a Stockbroker/Dealer, Investment Adviser, and Fund Manager by the Capital Markets and Securities Authority (CMSA). SOLOMON is also licensed as a Central Depository Participant (CDP) and Authorized Dealer of Government Securities by the Bank of Tanzania (BOT).


Job Description

Summary of the Role

The Accountant will provide professional financial support to ensure efficient execution of financial functions within the organization. The role involves collecting, tracking, analyzing, and correcting financial information to support sound business decision-making. The successful candidate will ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting of financial data in line with company objectives and regulatory requirements.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable, budgeting, and taxation systems and processes
  • Prepare and submit statutory returns including PAYE, SDL, VAT, and withholding taxes in compliance with applicable laws
  • Process payroll, salary disbursements, and monthly allowances
  • Maintain and update the fixed asset register
  • Prepare financial statements and quarterly financial reports
  • Prepare payment vouchers and process supplier payments
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations for all company accounts
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor in line with company objectives

Qualifications and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field from a recognized institution
  • A Master’s degree in a relevant field is an added advantage
  • Minimum of five (5) years’ working experience, with at least three (3) years in a Stockbroking firm
  • Professional certification such as CPA (T), ACCA, ACA, or equivalent recognized by NBAA, and in good standing
