Team Description

The Credit Risk & Collections team at d.light ensures that customer repayment levels remain within targeted thresholds across all PAYGO products. The team focuses on improving loan repayment trends, enhancing sales quality, strengthening collections performance, and maintaining overall portfolio health through data-driven credit management.


Position Overview

The Credit Operations Specialist supports customer-facing departments (Sales, Customer Experience, Field Collections, and Aftersales) in achieving credit and collections targets.

The role involves managing field collections operations in Tanzania, driving credit initiatives, improving operational efficiency, and supporting continuous improvement of credit processes across the organization.


Key Responsibilities

1. Credit Strategy Execution

  • Support customer-facing teams in implementing credit strategies
  • Ensure achievement of credit risk and collections targets

2. Credit Operations Improvement

  • Oversee rollout of credit operations improvements
  • Develop, document, and implement credit initiatives
  • Coordinate field execution and measure performance against KPIs

3. Management Support

  • Provide guidance to Managing Director / General Manager and department heads
  • Support day-to-day execution of credit-related operations

4. Training & Capacity Building

  • Support development of training plans and materials
  • Assist in delivering training to field teams and stakeholders
  • Improve credit procedures and documentation

5. Field Collections Management

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the Field Collections function in Tanzania
  • Ensure effective field execution of collections strategies

6. Reporting & Performance Monitoring

  • Prepare regular performance and project updates
  • Report to OpCo leadership and global credit management teams
  • Track KPIs and credit performance indicators

7. Systems & Technology Support

  • Support rollout of credit tools, dashboards, and BI systems
  • Provide feedback for continuous improvement of systems used by field teams

Skills, Qualifications & Experience

Required Experience

  • 3+ years in PAYGO industry or credit/collections operations
  • Experience in last-mile sales or credit management
  • Strong track record of timely and high-quality execution

Technical Skills

  • Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides) proficiency
  • Data handling and reporting ability
  • Understanding of credit risk and collections systems

Field Requirements
