Position: HME Maintenance Trainer (Expatriate) – 4 Vacancies

Reporting To: HME Trainer
Job Purpose
To provide training systems and strategies that promote best practice in maintenance of heavy mining equipment, ensuring safe, efficient, and profitable gold production. The role also focuses on upskilling the workforce using industry standards and modern maintenance practices.
Key Responsibilities
Training & Instruction
- Develop and deliver training programs on:
- Engines
- Hydraulics
- Electrical systems
- Train mechanics and trainees on repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Update training materials and technical documentation
Hands-on Coaching
- Mentor junior mechanics and trainees
- Demonstrate best practices in equipment maintenance and repair
- Support skill development in real operational environments
Safety & Compliance
- Deliver safety training and enforce safety standards
- Ensure compliance with regulations (e.g. OSHA standards)
- Promote a Zero Harm culture
Performance Evaluation
- Assess trainee performance and competency
- Conduct tests and evaluations
- Ensure repairs meet technical specifications
Maintenance Systems & Continuous Improvement
- Promote preventive maintenance best practices
- Support industry-standard maintenance systems
- Stay updated with new technologies and manufacturer guidelines
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of:
- Maintenance activities
- Repair logs
- Equipment performance
- Ensure proper reporting and documentation systems
Qualifications
- Heavy Diesel Fitter Trade Test certification
- Strong knowledge of Sandvik underground trackless mining equipment
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience in mechanized mining equipment
- Exposure to underground mining automation systems
- Experience with preventive maintenance systems
- Proven ability to reduce downtime and improve equipment availability
- Experience in high-performance mechanized mining environments
