Job Purpose
To ensure all issuing operations within the Supply Chain department are carried out safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively, while maintaining accurate transaction records and ensuring timely service to internal customers in line with BGML Mining Safety Standards, Policies, and Procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all safety procedures, including PPE usage and safety training attendance
- Report incidents and accidents as required
- Ensure strict adherence to Health, Safety, and Environmental policies
- Maintain safe handling and storage of goods in warehouse operations
Warehouse & Issuing Operations
- Ensure safe operation of materials handling equipment (MHE)
- Maintain clean and organized warehouse environment (housekeeping standards)
- Ensure all issuing activities are performed safely and efficiently
Transaction Processing & Accuracy
- Ensure all transactions are recorded immediately and accurately
- Capture stock returns according to procedures
- Participate in cyclic and periodic stock counts
Inventory Control & Reconciliation
- Reconcile materials issued with end users
- Acquit VMI picking slips within required timelines
- Perform stock verification and reconciliation activities
Customer Service & Communication
- Provide timely service to internal customers
- Maintain strong communication with departments and stakeholders
- Support business units in achieving operational goals
Equipment Handling
- Operate materials handling equipment such as:
- Forklifts
- Mobile cranes
- Scissor lifts
- Trucks and related warehouse equipment
Additional Duties
- Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisors or team leaders
Qualifications
- Diploma in:
- Procurement and Supply Management
- Or related field
- Registration with PSPTB (advantage)
- Valid Class E driving license
- Certification to operate materials handling equipment (advantage/required depending on site)
Experience & Skills
- Ability to operate warehouse and materials handling equipment
- Experience working in warehouse or supply chain environment
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work under minimal supervision
- Good work ethics and reliability
- Basic MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
