📌 Job Overview

Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking a qualified Geologist to support underground mining operations. The role focuses on grade control, geological mapping, sampling, and data management to ensure safe and efficient gold production.

You’ll play a key role in orebody interpretation, drilling supervision, and geological modelling, contributing to operational excellence and long-term mine performance.

🛡️ Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Ensure strict compliance with HSE policies and procedures
• Provide safety leadership to teams and contractors
• Maintain standards exceeding regulatory requirements
• Promote a zero-harm safety culture

🧭 Key Responsibilities

Geological Operations

• Supervise underground grade control drilling
• Conduct mapping, sampling, and core logging
• Perform 3D geological modelling (sections, flitches, block models)
• Manage ore movement and stockpile sampling
• Identify and test gold mineralization zones

Data Management & QA/QC

• Integrate lithological, structural, and geotechnical data
• Maintain sample quality control systems
• Ensure timely lab sample dispatch and reporting
• Share geological outputs with planning and operations teams

Planning & Reporting

• Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports
• Conduct stope analysis and dilution control
• Provide geological inputs to optimize production
• Collaborate with mine planning, metallurgical, and survey teams

Team Leadership

• Mentor and supervise Geological Technicians and Assistants
• Support training and professional development
• Drive continuous improvement within the geology team

Operational Support

• Oversee drilling contractors and performance
• Support budget control for drilling activities
• Operate manual-transmission light vehicles (mandatory)

🎓 Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Geology
• Valid Tanzanian driving license
• Ability to drive manual transmission vehicles
• Mine-specific driving permits (surface & underground preferred)

• Minimum 3 years underground mining experience
• Strong proficiency in:
