Position Purpose

The Boiler Maker is responsible for:

• Manufacturing
• Fabrication
• Repair of metal structures and equipment

All tasks are performed under the guidance of supervisors and trainers.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Follow all HS&E policies, procedures, and safety standards
• Use protective equipment correctly
• Report hazards, incidents, and injuries immediately
• Ensure safety of self and others at all times

---

Operations & Maintenance

• Perform pre-start checks and SWICs
• Inspect and maintain equipment before use
• Minimize equipment downtime and maximize productivity
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping

---

Fabrication & Repair Work

• Perform welding repairs on:
  • Machinery
  • Buckets
  • Frames
• Fabricate structural items such as:
  • Doors
  • Lock-up areas
  • Stands
  • Brackets
• Operate tools and equipment:
  • Air Arc
  • Oxy-Acetylene
  • Grinders
  • Drills
• Design and construct structural components

Minimum Requirements

Technical Skills

• Strong welding skills (Arc and MIG)
• Knowledge of:
  • Metal cutting
  • Fabrication design
  • Finishing techniques

---

Experience

• Minimum 2 years post-apprenticeship experience

---

Qualifications

• Completed secondary education
• Trade certification (post-trade skills)
• Basic First Aid certification

---

Additional Requirements

• Valid Tanzanian Driver’s License
• Basic numeracy skills
• Good written and spoken English
• Strong maintenance and service approach
• Willingness to learn and improve technical skills
