JOB VACANCY  : Chief Accountant

Union Service Stores Ltd is inviting applications from qualified, experienced, and highly motivated individuals for the position of Chief Accountant.

Position: Chief Accountant
Location: Moshi, Tanzania
Employment Type: Full-Time

Job Summary

The Chief Accountant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the company’s financial and accounting operations, ensuring statutory compliance, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting management through accurate financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
Oversee all accounting and financial operations of the company
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Ensure timely preparation and submission of statutory returns including TRA, NSSF, NHIF, and WCF
Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning
Supervise accounting staff and strengthen financial controls
Coordinate internal and external audits
Monitor company expenditures and cost control measures
Conduct bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
Provide financial advice and reports to management
Ensure compliance with Tanzanian accounting standards and regulations

Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA (T), or equivalent professional qualification is highly preferred
Minimum of more than 5 years proven experience in accounting and financial management
Strong understanding of Tanzanian tax laws and statutory requirements
Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications
Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills
High level of integrity and confidentiality

Added Advantage
Experience working in manufacturing, logistics, retail, or multi-business environments
Experience managing large operational financial systems
