CCR Operator Job Opportunity at Dangote Industries Limited

About the Role

Dangote Industries Limited is seeking a qualified and experienced CCR Operator to support production operations at its Mtwara Plant. The successful candidate will monitor and control different sections of the cement production line from the Central Control Room (CCR), ensuring stable plant operations, safety compliance, product quality, and achievement of production targets.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The CCR Operator will be responsible for:

• Monitoring various sections of the production line from the Central Control Room (CCR).
• Ensuring precision and adherence to required standards in the cement production process.
• Providing relevant information and direction to patrollers and operators in liaison with shift coordination.
• Monitoring and controlling all sections of the plant process lines to ensure:
  • Stable equipment operation
  • Employee safety
  • Compliance with prescribed standards
  • Compliance with environmental regulations
• Logging process data at specified intervals and reporting operational activities accordingly.
• Ensuring smooth operation of:
  • Crusher
  • Raw mills
  • Kiln
  • Cement mills
• Providing constant feedback and guidance to shift coordinators, engineers, patrollers, and operators.
• Informing operators and attendants about failures, potential failures, or trouble spots and providing direction for problem solving.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting operational problems independently or with shift coordinators, engineers, and the section head.
• Reviewing the plant automation system and recommending improvements based on best practices.
• Preparing clear and concise reports on completed work.
• Supervising casual staff to ensure conveyor belts are clean and free from jamming.
• Ensuring cement and clinker production targets are achieved during assigned shifts.
• Performing any other duties assigned by the section head or Head of Department (HOD).

Key Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Chemical and Processing Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years’ working experience in a relevant position.

Skills and Competencies

The ideal candidate should have:

• Good verbal and written communication skills in both English and Swahili.
• Working knowledge of the cement production process.
• Good understanding of product quality parameters and quality control.
• Knowledge of crushing operations, equipment, and their functions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good interpersonal and relationship management skills.
• Good supervisory skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
