Job Summary

Dangote Industries Limited is looking for a qualified and experienced Production Manager to provide accurate production information to top management and maintain production records that support effective planning, performance tracking, and decision-making.

The role supports operations and maintenance teams by ensuring production data is properly recorded, analyzed, and utilized to determine plant performance. The successful candidate will also contribute to production planning, strategy implementation, and continuous improvement of overall plant performance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The Production Manager will be responsible for:

• Participating in the development and implementation of production strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
• Executing and managing the plant’s:
  • Production plan
  • Capacity plan
  • Materials requirements plan
• Implementing approved production plans to ensure production targets are achieved.
• Ensuring production activities comply with safety and environmental procedures and guidelines.
• Demonstrating ownership of the unit’s strategic direction and clearly communicating objectives to production staff.
• Preparing annual production budgets and ensuring effective resource optimization to achieve budget targets.
• Coordinating and managing the production team to achieve daily production targets and support maintenance requirements.
• Overseeing:
  • Cement kiln lining repairs
  • Raw mill operations
  • Cement mill operations
  • Cement packaging systems
• Monitoring developments in cement production technology, industry trends, and best practices, and recommending improvements to management.
• Supervising the implementation of approved recommendations.
• Coordinating with production, mines, and maintenance departments to meet operational requirements.
• Providing strategic guidance and leadership to the production team.
• Preparing and submitting production reports to support management decision-making.
• Performing any other duties assigned by the Chief General Manager, Operations and Maintenance.

Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or an equivalent technical discipline.
• Postgraduate qualification or relevant professional certification.
• Minimum of 8 years of relevant working experience.
