The College of Business Education (CBE) is a public higher learning institution established by an Act of Parliament, Act No. 315 R.E. of 2002. The College provides teaching, research, and consultancy services in fields including:

  • Accountancy
  • Procurement and supplies
  • Marketing management
  • Metrology and standardization
  • Information and communication technology
  • Other business-related disciplines

CBE has obtained a permit to recruit employees on a one-year employment contract. The College invites applications from suitable, qualified, and experienced Tanzanians to fill the following vacant positions.

1. Librarian II — 5 posts

Duties and responsibilities

The Librarian II will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Undertaking bibliographic searches on behalf of users.
  • Promoting the use of information technology in meeting user needs.
  • Conducting research on the information needs of users.
  • Undertaking research and consultancy activities in library and information matters.
  • Handling challenging professional and supervisory duties in the library.
  • Participating in the development of new library systems and procedures.
  • Identifying materials to be ordered by the librarian.
  • Performing any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Applicants must be holders of a Bachelor Degree in one of the following fields:

  • Library Studies
  • Library and Information Science
  • Information Studies
  • Documentation
  • Information Management

2. Library Assistant II — 3 posts

Duties and responsibilities

The Library Assistant II will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Undergoing on-the-job training on library duties.
  • Performing library clerical duties.
  • Registering readers.
  • Issuing books to readers.
  • Receiving books from readers.
  • Handling simple enquiries from readers.
  • Conducting bibliographical searches.
  • Performing any other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Direct entry qualifications

Applicants must be holders of a Certificate in one of the following fields:

  • Library and Information Studies
  • Equivalent qualification from a recognized institution

3. Estates Officer II (Civil) — 1 post

Duties and responsibilities

The Estates Officer II (Civil) will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Ensuring maintenance and cleaning of college properties and the environment.
  • Examining bills of quantities.
  • Preparing work schedules.
  • Preparing budgets for maintenance works.
  • Participating in drawing up short- and long-term programmes for the general improvement of landscaping of campus grounds and drainage systems.
  • Keeping and maintaining relevant equipment in good working order.
  • Assisting in innovative approaches to conditioning, maintaining, and upgrading the built and un-built environment.
  • Assisting in planning, organizing, implementing, and controlling estate activities and services.

Qualifications

Applicants must be holders of a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution.

Applicants must also be registered by the respective Registration Board as graduates.

4. Estates Officer II (Architecture) — 1 post

Duties and responsibilities

The Estates Officer II (Architecture) will be responsible for the following duties:
