Position: Finance Officer

About the Role

Kuwa Pay is looking for a responsible and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our growing fintech team. The ideal candidate should have practical experience in financial services, mobile money, telecom, PSP, or payment-related operations. Cross-border payment experience will be considered an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile company transaction records, including bank statements, internal system records, and channel/operator statements.

• Partner Communication: Communicate with banks, mobile money operators, payment partners, and the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) when required.

• Documentation & Follow-ups: Follow up on monthly collection details, settlement reports, VAT invoices, and necessary supporting documents.

• Payroll & Statutory Payments: Calculate payroll and handle statutory payments, including social security, health insurance, payroll taxes, VAT, and other applicable government fees.

• Tax & Compliance Support: Support overall tax compliance and ensure all statutory filings and payments are completed accurately and on time.

• General Duties: Handle any other finance-related duties as required by the company.

Job Requirements

Experience & Industry Knowledge

• Experience: 2 to 3+ years of relevant finance experience.

• Sector Background: Prior experience working within a financial institution, mobile money operator, telecom operator, PSP, or payment-related company.

• Taxation Expertise: Good understanding of mobile payment-related taxes and general corporate tax obligations.

• Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with TRA communication, government payment deadlines, statutory filing dates, and compliance requirements.

Core Skills & Attributes

• Languages: Ability to communicate and write fluently in English.

• External Relations: Strong communication skills when dealing with banks, operators, TRA, and external partners.

• Work Ethic: A strong sense of responsibility, exceptional attention to detail, and excellent time management.

Important Note

This role requires an individual who can work independently and effectively manage strict deadlines. Government filings and payments are highly time-sensitive, and delays may result in penalties.
