Job Purpose

The Relationship Manager, Business Banking will be responsible for managing and growing a portfolio of Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) clients by providing tailored financial solutions, strengthening customer relationships, and driving business growth while maintaining high service standards.


Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Portfolio Growth

  • Drive growth of SME deposits and loan portfolios in both volume and value.
  • Recruit new SME customers and grow existing relationships.
  • Cross-sell bank products and services to SME clients.
  • Identify new business opportunities within the market.
  • Develop and implement marketing and deposit mobilization strategies aligned with branch and bank objectives.
  • Formulate strategic plans to achieve lending and deposit growth targets.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Manage a portfolio of SME and selected high-net-worth customers.
  • Maintain strong relationships with both new and existing clients.
  • Deliver excellent customer service to enhance satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Implement account strategies that secure and strengthen sole banking relationships.
  • Monitor market trends and recommend improvements to products and customer service offerings.

Credit & Risk Management

  • Monitor and control credit risk within the assigned portfolio.
  • Maintain acceptable Portfolio at Risk (PAR) and Non-Performing Loan (NPL) levels.
  • Follow up on delinquent accounts and implement timely remedial actions.
  • Ensure audit outcomes for SME Banking remain satisfactory.

Compliance & Governance

  • Ensure compliance with all internal policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Adhere to regulatory requirements and governance processes.
  • Maintain high standards of operational risk management and internal controls.

  • Experience in SME banking and relationship management.
  • Credit analysis and portfolio management capabilities.
