JOB VACANCY: UNDERGROUND MECHANICAL FOREMAN
MGM Matongo Gold Mines Ltd is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Underground Mechanical Foreman to join its mining operations team.
The successful candidate will provide leadership to underground mechanical teams and ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of critical lifting and hoisting systems, including winches and head frames.

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Supervising mechanical crews involved in the installation, repair, and maintenance of winches, head frames, and related underground equipment.
- Planning, allocating, and monitoring daily work activities to achieve operational targets.
- Conducting inspections and implementing preventive maintenance schedules for hoisting systems.
- Ensuring strict compliance with safety regulations, lock-out/tag-out (LOTO) procedures, and company policies.
- Training and mentoring mechanical fitters and technicians working in underground operations.
- Coordinating with inventory and procurement teams to ensure timely availability of spare parts and tools.
- Preparing and submitting operational performance and compliance reports to management.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants must possess:
- FTC (Full Technician Certificate) in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of five (5) years’ experience in underground mining mechanical operations.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Winch systems
- Head frame structures
- Heavy lifting and hoisting equipment
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory capabilities.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.
