Position Overview

The Solar Commissioning Technician is responsible for commissioning new Jaza service locations and ensuring they are fully operational, connected, tested, and compliant with Jaza’s technical and quality standards.

The role supports expansion activities by ensuring technical readiness and minimizing commissioning rework.


Key Accountabilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Take ownership of the commissioning process for assigned sites.
  • Ensure full compliance with commissioning procedures.
  • Manage technical equipment and inventory used during commissioning.
  • Maintain high technical quality standards.
  • Support achievement of site expansion targets.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Site Commissioning

The Solar Commissioning Technician will:

  • Install technical equipment at newly approved sites.
  • Manage deployment of tools and commissioning equipment.
  • Ensure 100% connectivity at commissioned locations.
  • Conduct testing, troubleshooting, and repairs of equipment prior to commissioning.
  • Verify operational readiness before site activation.

2. Technical Quality Assurance

Responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining a commissioning rework rate of 5% or less.
  • Implementing technical quality control measures.
  • Identifying technical issues affecting quality and escalating them appropriately.
  • Completing and submitting quality assurance checklists for all commissioned sites.
  • Ensuring compliance with company technical standards.

3. Reporting and System Management

The technician will:

  • Configure new sites within:
    • Star App
    • Dashboard
    • Dataverse
  • Provide regular commissioning progress reports.
  • Document and report:
    • Sites commissioned
    • Rework rates
    • Equipment utilization
  • Track inventory and technical tools.
  • Escalate technical issues to responsible teams.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and record keeping.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

Candidates should demonstrate:

  • Practical experience in renewable energy or electrical engineering.
  • Basic understanding of:
    • Solar PV system design
    • Solar installations
    • Commissioning processes
  • Experience working with technical installation equipment and tools.

Specialized Knowledge

The ideal candidate should have knowledge of:
