Job Summary:
Overseeing all day to day activities of the finance team and ensuring the company’s finance function is organized, efficient and produces timely & accurate financial and management accounts.
Effective management of financial systems & internal controls
- Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures
- Ensure that appropriate financial systems and internal controls are implemented and maintained throughout
- Ensure adequate controls and processes that are to a standard which is endorsed by internal and external audit
- Make recommendations to encourage the continuous improvement of financial performance and implementing relevant policies within the business
- Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
- Ensure financial risk management & control that will maintain financial health of the organization
- Developing external relationships with appropriate contacts, e.g. auditors, solicitors, bankers and statutory organization
Transactions
- Ensure that accounts payable, including employee claim reimbursements are paid in a timely & accurate manner
- Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
- Process payroll payments & statutory payments in a timely and accurate manner
- Ensure that periodic bank & payment reconciliations are completed
- Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
- Maintain the chart of accounts
Accurate & timely preparation of financial management reports
- Accurate and timely preparation of group financial management accounts.
- Ensure compliance with local government on financial reporting requirements and tax compliance.
- Provide financial analysis as required for contract negotiations, capital investments, pricing decisions, potential disposals and acquisitions
- Interprete financial information to management team
- Liase with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained
- Develop trends and projections for the company’s finances.
- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations
Effective management and control of cash-flows, working capital and budgets
- Management and control of cash-flows, working capital and budgets.
- Responsible for facilitating and ensuring budgetary control through calculating variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
- Timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, cash-flows, budgets & forecasts and maintenance of the same.
- Analyze costs, pricing, variable contributions, business results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.
Effective people management
- Management of the finance team.
- Take full responsibility for performance of all direct reports, motivating and managing them in relation to quality standards and agreed benchmarks and objectives, focusing on all aspects of sound people management:

- Continually inspire, motivate and develop finance Intern(s) to understand what is expected of them.

- Actively and consistently maintain high standards of professionalism in all aspects of personal presentation and delivery
- Follow through to ensure that personal quality and productivity standards are consistently and accurately maintained including meeting all deadlines.

Minimum Qualifications: BS/MA degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
Professional qualification such as CPA or similar
Minimum Experience: 4-5 years Financial Management experience in retail/FMCG
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Strong interpersonal, Communication & presentation Skills
Solid understanding of financial statistics & accounts principle
Working knowledge of local statutory legislation and regulations
Must include knowledge of Excel and skills in finance or accounting Systems
Excellent organization Skills
