About the Role

Vodafone is seeking a highly motivated Manager – Public Sector to drive growth and strengthen relationships within government institutions and public sector organizations. The role focuses on implementing public sector sales strategies, managing government accounts, supporting tender processes, and delivering end-to-end telecommunications solutions that meet public sector needs.


Role Purpose

To implement and administer Public and Government sales policies and programs in line with established guidelines, best practices, and market standards, while positioning Vodafone as the preferred partner for government institutions.


Key Responsibilities

1. Public Sector Sales Strategy

  • Develop and execute strategic projects within:
    • Central Government
    • Government Agencies
    • Ministries
    • Other Public Institutions
  • Ensure achievement of Vodafone Business (VBU) revenue targets and growth objectives.

2. Account Farming and Business Development

  • Identify and pursue new government project opportunities.
  • Manage and grow existing government accounts.
  • Increase share of wallet within the public sector customer base.
  • Build long-term strategic partnerships with government stakeholders.

3. Tender and Proposal Management

  • Support Key Account Managers throughout the tender process.
  • Coordinate:
    • Bid preparation
    • Proposal development
    • Documentation review
    • Tender submission
  • Ensure compliance with procurement requirements and deadlines.

4. Customer Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary point of contact for key government stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with:
    • Government officials
    • Ministries
    • Agencies
    • Internal business teams
  • Coordinate and support strategic government events and engagements.

5. Solution Selling

  • Understand complex public sector challenges.
  • Design and propose comprehensive telecommunications and digital solutions.
  • Deliver end-to-end solutions aligned with government digital transformation initiatives.

Required Competencies and Experience

Academic and Professional Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
    • Business Administration
    • Economics
    • Marketing
    • Or an equivalent field
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in:
    • Sales
    • Relationship Management
    • Public Sector/Government Engagement
    • Telecommunications Industry

Preferred Qualifications

  • Telecommunications industry experience.
  • Public sector sales experience.
  • Customer service experience.
  • Strong understanding of public procurement procedures and tender management.
  • Proven negotiation and account management skills.
  • Strong business acumen and sales expertise.
