Action Against Hunger (Action contre la Faim – ACF) is a global humanitarian organization that has been active in Tanzania since 2015, working primarily to combat malnutrition and food insecurity in vulnerable regions. Their operations are largely focused in the Singida and Dodoma regions, where they address the root causes of hunger, which are often exacerbated by climate-related shocks like droughts and flooding. ACF’s work is based on an integrated approach, strengthening local capacity and focusing on the most susceptible populations, including women, adolescents, and children under five.

The organization’s interventions are multi-sectoral and include Nutrition and Health (e.g., treating severe acute malnutrition and strengthening community health systems); Food Security and Livelihoods (e.g., training farmers on climate-smart agricultural practices and promoting resilient, biofortified crops); and Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) to prevent the spread of diseases. By working closely with local partners and the Ministry of Health, Action Against Hunger aims to create sustainable solutions and improve health outcomes for communities facing ongoing challenges related to chronic malnutrition and poverty.

Gender Capacity Strengthening Consultancy for Local Non-Governmental Organizations (LNGOs)

Action Against Hunger is seeking to engage a consultant or a team of up to two consultants to provide gender capacity strengthening support to Local Non-Governmental Organizations (LNGOs) under the GENTU Project.

The selected consultant(s) will be contracted under a two-year framework agreement, which will outline the overarching terms, conditions, and fee structure governing the consultancy.

For each specific assignment within the framework period, a Statement of Work (SoW) will be developed and mutually agreed upon by both parties prior to commencement, detailing the scope, deliverables, timelines, and expected outputs.
