Job Summary
Taste Naija Restaurant is looking for a reliable and motivated Assistant Chef to support daily kitchen operations.
The role involves assisting in:
- Food preparation and cooking
- Order fulfillment
- Kitchen organization
- Inventory management
- Maintaining hygiene and food safety standards
The position requires someone comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment, with the ability to support kitchen operations independently when needed.
Key Responsibilities
1. Food Preparation & Cooking
- Assist the Head Chef in preparing and cooking menu items.
- Support consistent delivery of high-quality dishes.
- Help execute daily kitchen orders efficiently.
2. Recipe Development
- Collaborate in developing new recipes and menu items.
- Contribute ideas for improving taste, presentation, and variety.
3. Kitchen Hygiene & Food Safety
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
- Follow strict food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of food ingredients.
4. Inventory Management
- Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies.
- Assist in ordering kitchen supplies when needed.
- Help reduce waste and ensure efficient use of resources.
5. Operational Support
- Support smooth kitchen operations during busy periods.
- Assist in coordinating order preparation and delivery timing.
- Work independently when required.
Requirements
Experience
- 1–2 years of experience in:
- Restaurant kitchen
- Commercial food preparation environment
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to work independently when required
- Creativity in food preparation and presentation
