Position: Channels and Integration Specialist

Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Closing Date: 23 June 2026, 5:00 PM

About the Role

This position is instrumental in supporting the bank’s digital transformation. The role requires both front-end and back-end programming capabilities to support user-facing digital channels, system integrations, and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) development and support. The successful candidate will also contribute to automation initiatives in lending, credit processes, and arrears management systems.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Confirm project requirements by reviewing business objectives, input data, and output requirements.
  2. Analyze requirements and prepare workflow charts and UML diagrams.
  3. Develop software using appropriate tools, technologies, and frameworks.
  4. Customize and enhance existing systems, including ESB solutions.
  5. Integrate software solutions with higher-level systems and third-party platforms.
  6. Perform unit testing and participate in user acceptance testing (UAT).
  7. Prepare technical documentation and user manuals.
  8. Test, debug, and optimize code to ensure expected results.
  9. Perform system upgrades to improve security and efficiency.
  10. Maintain proper system documentation and version control records.
  11. Support digital channels, APIs, and peripheral systems.

Candidate Profile

Academic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Professional Qualifications

  • Certifications or training in technologies such as Unix/Linux, Windows, C#, C++, Java, XML, Python, or related areas.
  • Project management certifications such as PRINCE2 or PMP are an advantage.
  • Knowledge of IT service management frameworks such as ITIL or COBIT5 is an advantage.

Experience & Technical Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of IT experience in implementing and supporting banking applications.
  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux/Windows operating systems.
  • Knowledge of relational databases, database design, and SQL scripting.
  • Knowledge of shell scripting.
  • Experience with system analysis, design, implementation, and support.
  • Understanding of data management best practices.
  • Knowledge of web and mobile application development is an added advantage.
  • Ability to learn new technologies quickly.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and debugging skills.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
