ClimaCare Tanzania is a youth-driven, non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young people to lead climate action and strengthen community resilience across the country. The organization amplifies youth voices, promotes green and blue innovation, and advances inclusive solutions to the climate crisis.

ClimaCare focuses on communities facing increasing climate challenges such as unpredictable rainfall, prolonged droughts, coastal erosion, and land degradation, which threaten food security, livelihoods, and public health. By mobilizing youth and women, raising awareness, and supporting locally driven climate adaptation strategies, ClimaCare works to protect people and the planet. Guided by its vision and mission, the organization emphasizes community-based action, education, and policy advocacy to create a more sustainable and equitable future.

Role Description

This is an on-site volunteer role based in Mtwara, Tanzania.

The volunteer will support the planning and implementation of community-based climate adaptation and environmental protection activities, including awareness campaigns, trainings, and outreach events.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engaging youth and community groups.

• Collecting basic field data and feedback.

• Helping document success stories and lessons learned.

• Assisting in preparing simple reports, presentations, and communication materials for internal and external stakeholders.

• Collaborating with local partners, participating in team meetings, and representing ClimaCare Tanzania in community forums as needed.

Available Positions

1. Fundraising and Resource Mobilization Officer

• Duties: Support fundraising initiatives for various projects, events, and organizational activities.

2. Communication and Content Creation Officer

• Duties: Create engaging content that tells our story and drives awareness.

3. Stakeholder & Community Engagement Officer

• Duties: Build relationships and engage the community for sustainable impact.

4. Business Development Services Officer

• Duties: Assisting in researching and writing proposals to secure funding for our project.

5. Project Facilitator

• Duties: Supporting planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of the project.
