Job Description
Umart is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Procurement Associate to manage the sourcing and procurement of FMCG products, pulses, fresh fruits, and vegetables. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supplier onboarding, price negotiation, and ensuring inventory quality and availability.
Key Responsibilities

Sourcing & Purchasing: Procure FMCG products, pulses, fresh fruits, and vegetables while actively sourcing and onboarding reliable suppliers and farmers.

Inventory & PO Management: Monitor stock levels, initiate timely replenishment, and generate/manage Purchase Orders (POs).

Negotiation: Negotiate competitive pricing, promotions, rebates, and favorable payment terms.

Market & Trend Analysis: Monitor market prices, availability, sales trends, and demand patterns to optimize purchasing decisions.

Quality Control: Ensure strict quality standards for fresh produce and perishable products.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the warehouse, operations, and category teams.

Performance Tracking: Track supplier performance, lead times, and fill rates, while maintaining updated procurement records and supplier databases.
Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration, Logistics, Agriculture, or a related field.

Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of procurement or buying experience specifically within FMCG, supermarkets, retail chains, fresh produce, or wholesale distribution.

Key Expertise: Proven experience sourcing FMCG products, pulses, fruits, and vegetables.

Technical Skills: Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Soft Skills: Excellent negotiation, supplier management, and interpersonal skills.
