Job Purpose
The WFP Research, Assessment & Monitoring (RAM) Unit is establishing a Roster of Enumerators to support various food security assessments, monitoring surveys, baseline studies, midline surveys, endline evaluations, and other field data collection activities.
Selected candidates will be deployed on short-term assignments as needed.
Key Responsibilities
Under the supervision of WFP RAM Officers or designated consultants, the Enumerator will:
- Participate in training on quantitative and qualitative data collection methodologies.
- Conduct household interviews using approved questionnaires.
- Conduct trader interviews in selected markets.
- Collect data using tablets, smartphones, or computers.
- Record accurate and complete survey responses.
- Participate in Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) and Key Informant Interviews (KIIs).
- Maintain accurate records of all field activities.
- Provide daily field updates and feedback to supervisors.
- Submit completed survey data through WFP’s Mobile Operational Data Acquisition (MODA) platform.
- Ensure confidentiality and ethical handling of respondents’ information.
Key Accountabilities
- Meet assigned daily interview targets.
- Ensure collected data is accurate, complete, and reliable.
- Adhere to WFP ethical standards and data collection procedures.
- Report any inability to attend assignments promptly.
- Maintain professionalism throughout field activities.
Primary Deliverable
As part of the field team, successfully collect high-quality data from assigned:
- Households
- Individuals
- Markets
- Communities
- Project sites
using approved WFP survey tools and methodologies.
Required Skills
Applicants should possess:
- Strong interviewing and communication skills.
- Ability to build rapport with respondents.
- Good probing and listening skills.
- Knowledge of proper interview techniques.
- Ability to provide clear daily feedback.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Teamwork skills.
- Ability to use smartphones, tablets, and digital data collection platforms.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Cultural sensitivity and respect for diversity.
- Basic knowledge of WFP programmes in Tanzania.
Added Advantage
- Previous participation in WFP surveys, assessments, or WFP-organized training.
Education Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Completion of Secondary School Education.
Desirable:
- A post-secondary certificate in a relevant field.
Language Requirements
Candidates must be fluent in:
- English (spoken and written)
- Swahili (spoken and written)
