Position Overview
Jaza is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Planning & Logistics Lead to manage the company’s end-to-end supply chain operations. The successful candidate will oversee demand planning, procurement, supplier management, inventory planning, logistics, warehousing, and distribution to support the company’s rapid expansion.
This role is responsible for ensuring that materials, equipment, and operational assets are available at the right time, cost, and quality while maintaining compliance with procurement policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Supply Chain Planning
- Develop and maintain demand forecasts aligned with project schedules and business growth.
- Design and implement scalable supply chain strategies.
- Coordinate planning activities with engineering, operations, and project teams.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc supply chain reports.
2. Procurement Management
- Lead procurement of equipment, materials, and operational supplies.
- Manage purchase orders in accordance with Jaza procurement policies.
- Source, evaluate, and manage suppliers and vendors.
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, and delivery terms.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies.
- Maintain procurement documentation, including:
- Requests for Proposal (RFPs)
- Vendor records
- Purchase records
- Procurement files
3. Logistics & Distribution
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments.
- Manage transportation, warehousing, and inventory distribution.
- Optimize shipping routes to reduce delivery costs and lead times.
- Coordinate customs clearance and import processes.
- Ensure proper shipping documentation, including:
- Bills of Lading
- Customs documents
- Import documentation
- Resolve shipment delays and logistics issues.
- Monitor warehouse inventory accuracy.
4. Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Evaluate and onboard suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance.
- Ensure suppliers comply with:
- Quality standards
- Safety requirements
- Sustainability standards
- Drive continuous supplier improvement initiatives.
5. Data Analysis & Reporting
- Monitor supply chain performance using key metrics.
- Track:
- Lead times
- Inventory levels
- Procurement cycle times
- Supply chain efficiency
- Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Review procurement documents and inventory records for completeness and accuracy.
6. Process Improvement & Automation
- Collaborate with software teams to improve supply chain systems.
- Implement scalable procurement and logistics processes.
- Automate supply chain workflows where possible.
7. Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with:
- Environmental standards
- Safety regulations
- Procurement policies
- Tanzanian import regulations
- Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions.
- Ensure ethical procurement practices in line with the Jaza Code of Conduct and Anti-Bribery Policy.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
The role will be measured against:
- Hubs-to-Build
- CAPEX per Site
- Inventory Accuracy
- Import Costs
- OTIF (On-Time In-Full Delivery)
Required Qualifications & Competencies
Applicants should possess:
- 8–10 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, logistics, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of:
- Supply chain management
- Procurement procedures
- Inventory management
- Logistics operations
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.

- Strong vendor negotiation and relationship management skills.
