Job Summary
The Business Intelligence Analyst is responsible for transforming raw data into meaningful business insights through advanced analytics, data engineering, visualization, and predictive modelling.
The role supports strategic decision-making by developing business intelligence solutions, maintaining high-quality data standards, and enabling a data-driven culture across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Business Intelligence & Analytics
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting and analytical requirements.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize Business Intelligence (BI) solutions.
- Design and manage key performance indicators (KPIs) and business metrics.
- Perform detailed data analysis to identify trends, risks, and business opportunities.
- Develop analytical frameworks aligned with business objectives.
- Design KPIs covering:
- Revenue and profitability
- Customer acquisition and retention
- Credit portfolio performance
- Liquidity and balance sheet metrics
- Support executive reporting, management dashboards, and board-level reporting.
- Conduct root-cause analysis and variance analysis for financial and operational performance.
2. Data Engineering & Data Modelling
- Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines.
- Develop and optimize analytical data models using star and snowflake schemas.
- Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and performance.
- Collaborate with IT and cloud teams on data architecture improvements.
3. Power BI & Data Visualization
- Design interactive and high-performance Power BI dashboards.
- Apply best practices in data visualization, UX/UI, and storytelling.
- Develop advanced DAX calculations and measures.
- Manage Power BI datasets and refresh schedules.
- Implement:
- Row-Level Security (RLS)
- Performance optimization
- Deployment pipelines
4. Data Governance
- Enforce data governance standards and master data management.
- Ensure compliance with privacy, security, and regulatory requirements.
- Implement data validation and quality assurance processes.
- Maintain:
- Data dictionaries
- Metadata
- Data lineage documentation
5. Stakeholder Support
- Act as a trusted analytics advisor to business teams.
- Train users on BI tools and dashboard interpretation.
- Promote analytics best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following:
- Computer Science
- Data Science
- Statistics
- Information Systems
- Engineering
- Economics
- Actuarial Science
- Or a related discipline
- A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 4 years of relevant technical experience.
- Experience working within a large and complex organization with multiple stakeholders.
