Position Available:

Declaration Officer

Requirements:

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in customs clearing, forwarding, or freight management in Tanzania.

• Familiarity with Tanzania customs procedures, port operations (Dar es Salaam, Tanga, Mwanza), and Inland Container Depot (ICD) practices.

• Experience handling import/export documentation, including Bills of Lading, Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, and other TRA-required documents.

• Knowledge of electronic systems for customs declarations, such as TANCIS (Tanzania Customs Integrated System).

• Knowledge of tariff classification, valuation, and duties calculation under Tanzanian law.

• Understanding of TRA regulations, VAT, excise, and other relevant taxes.

• Ability to prepare, verify, and submit customs declarations accurately and on time.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic accounting for invoice reconciliation.
