Emerging Health Initiatives (EHI) is inviting applications from qualified and dedicated professionals for the position of Pharmaceutical Technician to join its founding clinical team at a new Polyclinic in Kamachumu, Muleba District, Kagera Region, Tanzania.

EHI strengthens healthcare delivery systems through direct service provision, community outreach, health education, and partnerships with local stakeholders. As part of its mission, EHI is establishing a modern Polyclinic in Kamachumu to provide comprehensive primary healthcare, maternal and child health services, pharmacy, laboratory and radiology services, preventive healthcare, and community health programs.

Position Details

  • Job Title: Pharmaceutical Technician
  • Number of Positions: 1
  • Reports To: Chief Medical Officer
  • Duty Station: Kamachumu, Muleba District, Kagera Region, Tanzania
  • Contract Type: Fixed-Term Contract (Two Years), renewable based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding
  • Probation Period: Six (6) months
  • Expected Start Date: To be communicated to the successful candidate
  • Salary: According to EHI salary scale and benefits package

Position Summary

The Pharmaceutical Technician will oversee medicine dispensing, pharmaceutical inventory management, stock forecasting, regulatory compliance, and medicine quality assurance to support efficient pharmacy operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense medicines accurately and professionally.
  • Maintain pharmaceutical records and documentation.
  • Manage medicine inventory and stock control systems.
  • Monitor medicine consumption and prepare stock forecasts.
  • Support procurement and stock replenishment activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Pharmacy Council of Tanzania regulations and other applicable standards.
  • Participate in patient education and counseling activities.
  • Support the implementation of pharmaceutical quality assurance systems.

Minimum Qualifications

Applicants must possess:

  • Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences from a recognized institution.
  • Registration with the Pharmacy Council of Tanzania.
  • Valid practicing license.
  • At least three (3) years of relevant professional experience.

Required Experience

Candidates should have experience in:

  • Pharmaceutical inventory management.
  • Medicine forecasting and stock control.
  • Pharmaceutical documentation and reporting.
  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and digital inventory management systems.

Added Advantages

Preference will be given to candidates with experience in:

  • Preparing for regulatory inspections.
  • Digital health technologies.

Working Schedule
