Experienced Driver Guide – 3 Positions
Location: Ngorongoro & Serengeti
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Safely driving guests in 4×4 safari vehicles during game drives and transfers within Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area, and other Tanzanian national parks.
- Providing expert wildlife interpretation, ecological information, and cultural insights to enhance guest safari experiences.
- Maintaining high standards of vehicle cleanliness, maintenance, and safety at all times.
- Ensuring guest safety, comfort, and satisfaction during all drives and activities.
- Working closely with Camp Managers, guides, and lodge teams to deliver seamless luxury safari experiences.
- Complying with Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB), TANAPA, TAWA, and NCAA regulations regarding driving, guiding, and wildlife viewing.
- Assisting with luggage handling, guest briefings, and emergency procedures when required.
- Reporting wildlife sightings, road conditions, and vehicle maintenance issues promptly.
Requirements – Education, Knowledge and Experience
Applicants must have:
- Certificate or Diploma in Tour Guiding, Wildlife Management, or a related field from a recognized institution such as the College of African Wildlife Management – Mweka, VETA, or National College of Tourism.
- Minimum 10 years’ proven experience as a Driver Guide in Serengeti, Ngorongoro, and other major Tanzanian national parks including Ruaha, Katavi, Tarangire, and Nyerere/Selous.
- Valid Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) Driver-Guide License (mandatory).
- Valid Tanzanian Class C or E driving license with extensive off-road and defensive driving experience in national parks.
- Excellent knowledge of Tanzanian wildlife, birds, ecology, and park regulations.
- Strong record of delivering exceptional guest experiences with positive client feedback.
- Fluency in English and Kiswahili. Knowledge of additional European languages is an added advantage.
- First Aid certification and knowledge of emergency evacuation procedures in remote areas.
- Clean driving record and ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and long-distance drives.
- Professional appearance, excellent communication skills, and passion for wildlife conservation and hospitality.
