Position: Sales Manager – Payments
Role Purpose
The Sales Manager – Payments will be responsible for creating, developing, and maintaining customer accounts, identifying new business opportunities, promoting Payments products and services, and managing customer relationships within the assigned geographical territory.
The role aims to achieve customer satisfaction, financial growth, internal objectives, and business expansion targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain relationships with Payments business customers, ensuring products and services meet customer needs and quality standards.
- Conduct regular customer care meetings to monitor satisfaction levels, sales performance, build relationships, and address issues affecting the Payments business.
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships at all levels, including senior executive levels.
- Develop and maintain competitor profiles to support effective market positioning.
- Ensure understanding and compliance with contractual obligations related to delivery of products and services.
- Initiate and negotiate contract amendments based on changes in customer payment system capacity.
- Develop and implement sales plans to achieve business objectives.
- Prepare sales proposals, tender responses, product presentations, and demonstrations while participating in sales negotiations.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, customer preferences, and behaviors within the assigned territory.
- Identify and recommend suitable channel partners for distribution of Payments products and services.
- Develop business, sales, and marketing plans for identified channel partners.
- Manage channel partner performance to maximize business results.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts showing customer and prospect status.
- Maintain an updated customer prospect database reflecting expected revenue opportunities.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in B2B enterprise technology sales with a proven record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets in complex solution-selling environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or a related field.
- Experience in payments solutions with demonstrated innovation and exposure to the payments industry.
- Strong understanding of the digital payments industry and operational capabilities.
- Ability to build and maintain collaborative business relationships.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and target achievement skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and business requirements.
- Experience identifying up-selling opportunities to increase product penetration.
- Ability to manage the full opportunity lifecycle, from opportunity identification and proposal development to closure and implementation.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Kiswahili communication skills.
