GSM Group is seeking a qualified and experienced professional to join GALCO Transport as a Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP).

Job Purpose
Reporting to the Senior Human Resources Business Partner, the Human Resource Business Partner (HRBP) will be responsible for driving the Human Resources agenda within GALCO Transport. The role focuses on implementing the organization’s integrated people capability strategy while supporting business objectives through effective talent management, performance management, employee engagement, learning and development, organizational development, compensation and benefits, and industrial relations.
Key Responsibilities
Talent Management
- Implement talent management processes to support current and future workforce needs.
- Support recruitment activities, including onboarding new employees.
- Implement talent management initiatives aligned with business priorities.
- Train and support managers on talent management processes and best practices.
- Consolidate talent data and contribute to departmental talent planning.
Performance Management
- Develop communication materials that promote effective implementation of the performance management process.
- Support managers and employees in setting aligned individual and team performance goals.
- Coach managers to build high-performing teams.
- Promote consistent application of the performance rating system.
- Guide managers in conducting effective performance discussions during one-on-one meetings, mid-year, and annual reviews.
- Support managers in making fair performance rating decisions and communicating outcomes effectively.
Organizational Development
- Support organizational change initiatives with a focus on employee engagement and behavioral change.
- Facilitate communication and stakeholder engagement throughout change initiatives.
- Identify barriers to change and implement mitigation strategies.
- Work with leaders to assess workforce capability and develop improvement plans.
- Support implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of change management plans.
Learning and Development
- Collaborate with line managers to implement development processes and competency frameworks.
- Maintain employee training records and monitor training quality and costs.
- Promote awareness of Learning and Development (L&D) initiatives.
- Coach managers on providing feedback and creating employee development plans.
- Support development and execution of the L&D strategy, including evaluating training return on investment (ROI).
- Ensure training programs are delivered according to the approved plan.
Compensation and Benefits
- Deliver clear and consistent communication regarding compensation and benefits.
- Monitor legislative changes affecting compensation and benefits.
- Support business leaders in identifying compensation and benefits requirements for key employees.
Industrial Relations
- Ensure compliance with industrial relations policies and procedures.
- Facilitate conflict resolution in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
- Manage employee relations matters with support from the Senior HR Business Partner.
- Coach managers on handling industrial relations issues effectively.
Employee Engagement
- Review feedback from business reports, including exit interviews and performance scorecards, to identify engagement issues.
- Coach managers on improving employee engagement through regular discussions and feedback.
- Serve as an advocate for employees within the organization.
Qualifications and Experience
Applicants should possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resource Management, Social Sciences, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a generalist Human Resources role.
- Knowledge of Tanzanian labour laws and labour relations practices is an added advantage.
