Position Description

The Barrick Africa Middle East Team is seeking to recruit an Occupational Health Nurse to join and grow their team at North Mara Mine Clinic.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care at the North Mara Mine Clinic.
• Conduct daily patient triage and ensure smooth clinic attendance.
• Administer medicines, injections, and vaccinations as prescribed by doctors.
• Assist in medical investigations including:
  • Audiometry
  • Spirometry
  • Vision screening
• Conduct routine inspections of clinic and ambulance equipment.
• Maintain accurate employee medical records.
• Manage return-to-work programmes following work-related injuries or prolonged illness.
• Assess workplace environments for potential health and safety hazards.
• Deliver health and safety training programmes, including site induction.
• Participate in meetings, health promotion activities, and awareness sessions.
• Implement workplace health initiatives and programmes, including:
  • Public Health Education (PHE) schemes
  • First Aid programmes
  • HIV/AIDS workplace programmes
  • Malaria prevention initiatives
• Keep updated with legal and professional developments related to public health, occupational health, and safety.

Qualification Requirements

• Diploma in Nursing from a recognized institution.

Experience and Competencies

• 2–3 years of relevant work experience.
• Previous experience working in the mining industry will be an added advantage.
