Position Overview
Bulyanhulu Gold Mine is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Tele-Remote Operator Trainer to join its Underground Mining Operations team.
The successful candidate will operate underground mobile equipment remotely from a designated control station, ensuring safe, efficient, and productive mining operations while supporting automation initiatives and continuous improvement activities.

Key Responsibilities
Tele-Remote Equipment Operations
- Operate underground mobile equipment remotely, including:
- Load-Haul-Dump (LHD) loaders.
- Underground haul trucks.
- Follow underground mine operating procedures and safety standards.
- Conduct pre-operational equipment inspections and report defects.
- Monitor equipment performance through tele-remote systems and onboard technologies.
- Maintain production targets while ensuring compliance with safety requirements.
Safety and Operational Compliance
- Operate equipment in accordance with:
- Ground Control standards.
- Traffic Management standards.
- Critical Risk Management procedures.
- Identify and report:
- Hazards.
- Incidents.
- Equipment abnormalities.
- Participate in:
- Shift handovers.
- Toolbox meetings.
- Continuous improvement initiatives.
Training and Mentorship Responsibilities
- Coach and mentor trainees on:
- LH307 Sandvik Loaders.
- LH410 Sandvik Loaders.
- LH514 Sandvik Loaders.
- Remote operation systems.
- Support operator training and skills development programmes.
- Provide technical, practical, and field support within underground mining areas.
- Promote improved operational practices to increase:
- Work effectiveness.
- Productivity.
- Cost efficiency.
Production and Reporting
- Maintain accurate production and operational records.
- Perform towing and recovery activities.
- Support automation improvement initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with:
- Mine Control.
- Supervisors.
- Maintenance personnel.
Qualification Requirements
Applicants should have:
- A qualification in Mining or a related technical field, supported by practical mining experience.
- Practical exposure to underground mining automation environments.
- Strong skills in:
- Time management.
- Scheduling.
- Planning.
- Hazard identification.
- Risk assessment.
Experience and Skills Requirements
Candidates must have:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Tele-Remote Loader Operator.
- Experience operating equipment in large underground mining operations.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve 400 tonnes/hour on LH410 remote operations during a 12-hour shift.
- Experience and exposure to mining automation systems.
- Proven ability to train operators in tele-remote loader operations.
