Job Summary

WinBill Shop is seeking a qualified and experienced Financial Accountant to oversee financial operations, cash management, inventory control, regulatory compliance, and financial reporting. The successful candidate will also support day-to-day shop operations and provide leadership when the Shop Manager is unavailable.

Key Responsibilities

Cash Management

• Make payments to suppliers.
• Receive cash from cashiers at the end of each shift.
• Issue cash floats to cashiers.
• Manage the shop’s main petty cash.
• Manage cash supplies and ensure adequate funds are available to pay suppliers when required.

Bank Transactions

• Ensure daily cash sales are deposited into the bank on the next working day.
• Perform periodic bank reconciliations.
• Conduct regular cash-count reconciliations.

Inventory Management

• Reconcile physical stock movements with inventory balances recorded in the accounting system.
• Monitor expired and defective products.
• Track the movement of bakery raw materials and analyse productivity based on procured materials.

Fixed Assets Management

• Maintain an accurate fixed asset register.
• Ensure all shop assets are properly recorded and safeguarded.

Supplier Management

• Maintain supplier records, especially for suppliers providing goods on credit.
• Monitor supplier credit terms and payment schedules.

Financial Management and Compliance

• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and statutory requirements.
• Record and analyse all financial transactions accurately and on time using the accounting system.
• Prepare financial reports as requested by the company’s directors.
• Coordinate with internal and external auditors to ensure clean audit reports.

Operational Support

• Act on behalf of the Shop Manager during their absence.
• Provide technical support and guidance to shop-floor attendants when necessary.

Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should possess:

• A degree from a recognized college or university in Tanzania.
• A CPA qualification will be an added advantage.
• At least three (3) years of relevant work experience.
• Experience in the retail or supermarket industry will be an added advantage.
• Willingness to work extended hours when required.
• Ability to report to work on short notice.
• Preference will be given to applicants residing in Kimara or Mbezi.
