- Provided clean energy access to approximately 225,000 people.
- Empowered women from local communities, known as Jaza Stars, by creating employment and leadership opportunities.
Position Overview
The Hub Manager is a strategic frontline leader responsible for driving the growth, operational excellence, and financial performance of a portfolio of Jaza Energy hubs.
The successful candidate will combine strong sales leadership with operational management to expand customer adoption, improve hub performance, and mentor Jaza Stars while supporting the company’s mission of increasing energy access across Tanzania.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Growth & Customer Acquisition
- Drive customer acquisition through targeted door-to-door campaigns and local sales initiatives.
- Achieve a target of 150 active customers (L7) per hub.
- Develop strategies to increase community awareness and market penetration.
Revenue Management
- Maximise Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR).
- Increase Average Revenue Per User (ARPU).
- Improve customer retention and reduce customer churn.
- Transition customers from pay-per-swap services to membership-based models.
Operational Excellence
- Ensure all hubs comply with Jaza’s “Brilliant Basics” operational standards.
- Maintain full compliance with inventory management procedures.
- Monitor and minimise lost or missing battery pack metrics.
- Ensure efficient day-to-day hub operations.
Talent Development
- Lead the recruitment, interviewing, and onboarding of Jaza Stars.
- Coach and mentor team members in:
- Sales.
- Customer service.
- Technical inventory management.
- Foster a high-performance and customer-focused work culture.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor hub profitability and operational performance.
- Participate in Hypercare meetings with clear action plans.
- Analyse operational challenges and escalate critical issues to the Regional Coordinator.
- Prepare accurate operational and performance reports.

- 3–5 years’ experience in the solar energy sector.
- Understanding of rental business models.
- Proven experience in coaching and developing teams.
- Strong customer retention track record.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Sales.
- Renewable Energy.
- Business Administration.
- Marketing.
- Or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 3–6 years’ experience in:
- Sales.
- Customer relationship management.
- Entrepreneurship.
- Team leadership.
Candidates should also demonstrate:
- Experience training and coaching diverse teams.
- Strong data-driven decision-making skills.
- Ability to learn new technologies and systems quickly.
- Proficiency in online communication, reporting, and digital collaboration tools.
- Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
