Job Purpose

Kilombero Sugar Company Limited is seeking a qualified Change Specialist to maximize transformation outcomes by proactively managing the people, behavioral, and business impacts of change.

The successful candidate will lead change strategy and execution across business initiatives by ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives, consistent delivery practices, and an integrated approach to change management.


Key Responsibilities

Change Planning & Strategy

  • Develop strategies that define the scope, impact, and readiness for change.
  • Design comprehensive change management strategies and roadmaps for projects and business initiatives.
  • Establish measurable success metrics to evaluate change effectiveness.

Stakeholder Management

  • Conduct impact assessments against the organization’s operating model and develop supporting transition plans.
  • Build executive sponsorship and leadership alignment to ensure successful implementation of change initiatives.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders across the organization.

Communication Management

  • Develop and implement communication plans tailored to different stakeholder groups.
  • Maintain effective two-way communication channels to encourage engagement and feedback throughout the change process.

Training & Capability Building

  • Collaborate with the Learning and Development team to identify training needs and skill gaps.
  • Support knowledge transfer, coaching, and capability-building initiatives.
  • Ensure employees are confident and prepared to adopt new ways of working.

Resistance & Risk Management

  • Conduct stakeholder mapping and analysis to anticipate resistance to change.
  • Develop mitigation plans to address resistance and implementation risks.
  • Coach project managers and line managers on managing team-level resistance.
  • Escalate critical adoption risks to senior leadership where necessary.

Adoption & Reinforcement

  • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure adoption, system usage, and behavioral change.
  • Prepare regular progress reports on change adoption and effectiveness.
  • Reinforce change readiness and sustainability plans to embed transformation into day-to-day operations.
  • Promote compliance with company procedures, policies, and guidelines, including those relating to:
    • Safety, Health, Environment, Risk, and Quality (SHERQ)
    • Competition Law
    • Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC)

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants should possess:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Psychology, Human Resources, Project Management, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in Organizational Effectiveness and/or Change Management, with a proven track record of successfully leading change initiatives.
  • Professional certification as a Certified Change Practitioner (Prosci, CCMP, or equivalent).
  • Experience applying recognized change management methodologies such as ADKAR and PDCA.
  • Experience building and managing relationships with key stakeholders across multiple business functions.
  • Experience implementing programmes using Agile methodologies.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification will be an added advantage.
