Position Overview

Standard Bank Group is seeking a Transaction Banking Head to lead the growth and execution of the Transactional Products and Services (TPS) strategy in Tanzania. The role focuses on driving client-centric solutions, managing teams, strengthening client relationships, and expanding transaction banking capabilities across key sectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Customize and implement the Transaction Banking strategy aligned with country objectives.
• Drive growth of transaction banking products and services.
• Lead teams responsible for transactional banking solutions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients and stakeholders.
• Manage and coordinate teams across different product areas.
• Support client acquisition, retention, and service excellence.
• Develop solutions across transaction banking value chains.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and risk requirements.
• Manage financial processes, budgets, and performance targets.
• Leverage market opportunities to grow the transaction banking franchise.

Minimum Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Business Commerce
  • Finance
  • Economics
  • Business Administration
  • Related field

Preferred:

• Master’s degree is strongly preferred.

Experience Requirements

Transaction Banking / General Management

• 10+ years’ experience in a transactional banking environment.
• Strong exposure to:
  • Transactional banking products
  • Client-facing banking solutions
  • Cash management
  • Investor services
  • Trade products

Additional Experience

• 3–4 years’ experience in:
  • Transaction banking leadership
  • Budget and financial management
  • Team leadership
  • Stakeholder management

Experience with:

• Local regulatory requirements.
• Credit decision assessment and management.
• Managing client relationships.
• Developing banking solutions.

Required Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of transaction banking products.
• Broad knowledge of:
