Job Purpose

The Database Administrator will be responsible for managing, supporting, and maintaining the bank’s database systems and related operating systems. The role ensures availability, security, performance, backup, and recovery of database environments while providing reliable ICT services.

The position covers current database platforms including:

• Oracle Database
• Microsoft SQL Server
• Other future database systems deployed by the bank

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support the bank’s database systems.
• Monitor database performance and availability.
• Perform database administration activities including:
  • Installation
  • Configuration
  • Maintenance
  • Troubleshooting
• Manage database backup and restoration processes.
• Ensure database security and access controls.
• Provide timely ICT support services to business users.
• Monitor database systems using appropriate management tools.
• Support application teams with database-related issues.
• Maintain database documentation and operational procedures.
• Ensure compliance with change management and service level agreements (SLAs).
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery activities.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in:

• Computer Science
• Information Technology
• Or a related field

---

Required Experience

Technology Experience

3–4 years of experience in:

• Application support
• Database administration
• Batch operations

Additional Technical Experience

Experience in:

• Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining banking technology applications.
• Supporting proprietary banking applications and third-party systems.
• Analysing functional requirements and translating them into system solutions.
• Application prototyping and development.
• Writing and maintaining technical documentation.
• Testing and supporting applications.
• Monitoring compliance with change management processes and operational SLAs.
