JOB PURPOSE
The Inventory Operations Controller will work closely with the Inventory Manager to achieve optimal onsite inventory stock levels from both financial and operational perspectives.
The role involves leading inventory operations, managing store activities, ensuring efficient stock movement, and supporting effective inventory control and service delivery.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Delegating workflow and managing the team’s operational activities.
- Planning, organizing, leading, and controlling activities carried out at stores.
- Managing the Inventory Operations team to ensure accurate and efficient receiving, receipting, and issuing of stock.
- Ensuring strong customer support through timely service and product availability.
- Managing and controlling inventory levels to minimize outstanding store requisitions and service delays.
- Implementing and overseeing effective service delivery and resolving issues affecting delivery or supply constraints.
- Planning receiving loads and ensuring the availability of required staff and equipment, including forklifts, for offloading.
- Engaging with suppliers regarding defective goods and goods that are over-received or under-received.
- Supporting the business in finalizing the receipting process for creditor payments, including queries, GRNs, credits, and exchanges.
- Assessing operational team performance using Engaged Performance Management (EPM) tools against role profiles and established KPIs.
- Promoting and adhering to Kilombero procedures, policies, and guidelines, including SHERQ, Competition Law, and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC) requirements.
- Ensuring compliance with FCFQ through effective engagement with Group and Internal Audit.
- Maintaining the relevance and effectiveness of current systems, policies, and procedures.
- Maintaining good housekeeping of designated areas using 5S principles, in accordance with SHERQ and applicable ISO standards.
- Establishing and maintaining clear responsibilities within the decision-making process.
REQUIRED SKILLS

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants must have:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management.
- At least 3 years of experience in Procurement, Purchasing, or Supply Chain Management.
- Demonstrated understanding of stores management and inventory management systems and processes.
- A proven track record of team management and leadership.
