One Acre Fund was founded in 2006 and supports smallholder farmers by providing farm supplies, tree seedlings, accessible credit, modern agronomic training, and other agricultural services.
The organization operates across nine African countries and supports millions of farmers. Its Tanzania program was established in 2013 and currently supports more than 100,000 farmers. The Tanzania program is headquartered in Iringa, with additional offices in Mbeya, Njombe, and Moshi.
About the Opportunity
One Acre Fund is seeking dedicated investigative professionals to join its Tanzania team in the following positions:
- Internal Investigation Coordinator – 3–5+ years of relevant experience
- Internal Investigation Senior Supervisor – 1–2+ years of relevant experience
The successful candidates will help safeguard organizational operations, secure rural supply chains, investigate fraud, conduct stock and vendor audits, and strengthen organizational integrity across Tanzania.
Key Responsibilities
Shared Responsibilities
Both positions will be responsible for:
- Conducting independent field investigations into suspected fraud, theft, inventory stock leakages, and policy non-compliance.
- Investigating issues across rural retail, tree, and warehouse business units.
- Gathering physical and digital evidence.
- Conducting witness and subject interviews.
- Preparing chronological event logs in compliance with legal guidelines.
- Recording and tracking cases using Kissflow.
- Preparing evidence bundles, interview notes, and supporting documentation for internal disciplinary panels, CMA proceedings, and legal cases.
- Investigating and resolving farmer and customer complaints.
- Identifying operational vulnerabilities and supporting anti-fraud training and risk evaluations.
- Preparing comprehensive investigation and audit reports containing factual findings, control failures, and actionable recommendations.
Internal Investigation Coordinator
The Internal Investigation Coordinator will:
- Lead complex and high-value fraud investigations.
- Investigate major warehouse losses, senior-level misconduct, and procurement/vendor fraud.
- Coordinate with external legal counsel.
- Represent or support representation at CMA sessions.
- Advise senior management on investigation outcomes and legal risks.
- Line-manage the Internal Investigation Senior Supervisor.
- Provide technical oversight, case assignments, guidance, and quality control.
Internal Investigation Senior Supervisor
The Internal Investigation Senior Supervisor will:
- Conduct routine field-based investigations.
- Handle minor-to-moderate fraud investigations and inventory stock checks.
- Gather facts and evidence for major or high-risk cases.
- Support cases managed by the Internal Investigation Coordinator.
- Serve as a factual witness during internal disciplinary panels, CMA arbitrations, or court proceedings.
Qualifications and Requirements
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
Technical Knowledge
Candidates should have demonstrated knowledge of:
- Tanzanian labour regulations.
- Primary and district court prosecution processes.
- Legal proceedings.
Software Skills
- Google Suite
- Microsoft Office
- Kissflow or similar case management tools
Language Requirements
- Fluent in Swahili and English, both written and spoken.
Other Requirements
- Willingness to travel extensively to field locations and vendor sites within Tanzania.
- Expected travel is approximately 30–40% of the work month, often on short notice.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- High level of integrity and discretion.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines.
Experience Requirements
Internal Investigation Coordinator
- 3–5+ years of relevant experience in corporate investigations, audit, or legal case management.
- At least 2 years of experience leading complex, high-risk fraud investigations, high-value asset loss inquiries, and senior-level misconduct cases.
- Experience managing staff and providing technical guidance, quality control, and direction on investigation files.
Internal Investigation Senior Supervisor
- 1–2+ years of relevant experience in corporate investigations, audit, security, compliance, or legal case management.
- Hands-on experience conducting field investigations, fraud checks, and witness/subject interviews.
- Experience gathering physical and digital evidence.
- Experience preparing factual groundwork to support broader investigation teams.
